Our mission is to provide financial assistance to deserving students. Alpha Phi Delta Scholarship has provided financial awards, ranging from $500 to $2500, to over 500 outstanding undergraduate and graduate students. This program's explosive growth in recent years has reached a level even organizations of much larger size cannot match! In 2012, we awarded 44 scholarships to bright young men and women. Alpha Phi Delta Scholarship was founded by the brothers of Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity, the National Italian-American Heritage Fraternity. Scholarships are awarded based upon academic achievement, extra curricular activities, letters of recommendation and financial need. All fraternity brothers and their family members are eligible. Applications are available each spring.
Over thirty Alpha Phi Delta Scholarships are currently awarded on an annual basis. The amount of each award is based upon the income of the sponsoring fund. In order to support an award a fund must have a balance of at least $10,000. Applicants are required to submit a college transcript along with a recommendation from a faculty member and a member of Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity.
The Scholarship Fund is a division of Alpha Phi Delta Foundation, Inc. a 501(c)(3) Charitable Corporation. Scholarship funds are managed and maintained separately from the general funds of the foundation.
While the scholarship fund has grown exponentially in the past twenty years, college costs have risen, and interest rates have dropped sharply. In order to make meaningful awards in the future we need your support.
Your donation to Alpha Phi Delta Scholarship will be preserved in perpetuity because only the income from your gift is used for scholarship awards. A gift made in 1973 has already funded awards totaling more than three times the initial gift.
A donation of $10,000 permanently endows an award in your name or the name of a loved one. With your help we can reach our goal of a one million dollar scholarship fund by 2014, the one hundredth anniversary of Alpha Phi Delta Fraternity.
